Purpose:The purpose of this paper is to look at the impact of globalisation on workspace management. Specifically, it seeks to identify the key attributes in affecting productivity and creativity in workplace. Design/methodology/approach:The authors evaluates the literature that categorises office occupiersí preferences. The occupier perspective of office provision is fully explored. Office occupier segmentation and analytical tools are identified. Findings: This paper establishes that the office occupier's cultural background has an impact on how they work. The design of the office environment will have an impact on productivity and creativity. The findings from this paper will enhance the design of future workplace. Originality/value: This paper will demonstrate that a greater understanding of office occupiersí and usersí preferences adds to the organizationsí knowledge.
