The structure of the logistics sector across Europe is currently experiencing significant change. This paper briefly outlines the historical and current structure of the market and considers what are the main drivers of occupierís location decisions. The main focus of the paper is an attempt to quantify the factors that motivate occupiers to locate in particular areas. This is achieved through an extension of the Jones Lang LaSalle E-REGI modelling process which ranks Europeís regions in terms of a series of economic and property related variables. The paper concludes with an attempt to highlight the key locations revealed by the ranking system.
